Dr. Judith Kleinfeld is a professor of psychology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she chairs the Northern Studies Graduate Program. A popular newspaper columnist, author, and researcher, she has been interviewed frequently on National Public Radio as well as on national and local radio and television stations. Her research on education, fetal alcohol syndrowme , and gender and other social issues has been featured in many publications, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Science, USA Today, and Psychology Today. Dr. Kleinfeld received a B.A. in 1966 from Wellesley College, followed by an Ed.M. in 1967 and Ed.D. in 1970 from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The recipient of many awards, her several books have been published by St. Martin's Press and the University of Alaska Press.
